Blues v Leicester City - Match Thread & Early Chat -
First topic message reminder :
No games for any club in the Championship this weekend due to Internationals so we stay fourth from bottom until next Saturday at least.
Leicester are second in the table and this will be our toughest home game so far this season.
Tickets in the Tilton are now just £24.00 I wont be going.
Can Lee Clark turn it round with us gaining the three points ?
Anyhow my prediction is a 0.3. home defeat.
What is your prediction ?
Who would you start ?
kro.

I wished we had stub hub or something similar. Last week I got a $120 ticket for $75 to watch the redskins. I use stub hub all the time in the States. It would mean the likes of Bryan could put up his seats for a game he knows he will not be able to attend and flog them.....to Kev for £8 :lol
Can't do it with ST, how could you rely on someone to return your card back to you?
It comes down to being mates and being able to trust them.
I wouldnt have a problem with anyone on here that I have met in one of our meet ups.
And besides it dont matter to me personally if the tickets were £8 or if it was free entry I still wouldnt go this Saturday.
kro
I think that whilst Clark is there I will will not be going...it's not the cost, it's just a waste of time.
Or as I said earlier somewhere .... I'll go if we have a forum party in December.
Anyway I'm off again so I won't be around for a while.

I couldn't swap my ticket as none of you are old enough to get in as a senior.

It doesn't work like that. It depends on different circumstances but every time I have used Stub Hub they send me an email and I print it off....I imagine the guys actual ticket is electronically barred.
Guess so, but that would require them having access to the clubs system to block the ST. It could only see this working for non ST

NPOWER CHAMPIONSHIP
Venue: St Andrew's Date: Saturday 20 October Kick-off: 15:00 BST
TEAM NEWS
Birmingham City should have defenders David Murphy (hamstring) and Curtis Davies (leg) available for selection.
Pablo Ibanez (broken foot), Paul Caddis (dislocated shoulder) and Stephen Carr (knee) are absent but midfielder Papa Bouba Diop could make his debut.
Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is doubtful after missing most of the week's training through illness.
Centre-back Sean St Ledger may be unavailable after picking up a hamstring injury on international duty.
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
• Birmingham have won 50 and Leicester 49 of the 120 league meetings since 1897.
• Leicester have taken away maximum points from four of their last seven visits to St Andrews, and have left the ground with no points on only one occasion over that period, when Birmingham beat a 10-man Leicester 2-0 in the most recent fixture in October 2011, Matthew Mills having been sent off.
• The Foxes need three goals to total 200 in league matches against the Brummies.
Birmingham City
• The lowly Brummies are aiming to avoid three successive league defeats, last suffered at the close of their 2010/11 Premier League campaign.
• Lee Clark's men are averaging a goal a game in this league season (10 in 10); only rock-bottom Peterborough match that, and only Ipswich are inferior.
• If selected, Steven Caldwell will be making his 300th career league appearance.
Leicester City
• The second-placed Foxes, one point behind Cardiff, are aiming to complete the longest winning sequence in the Championship this season of six matches, and their most successful run since March 1993.
• They have scored in all 10 league games, won every match in which they have netted two or more goals, and are yet to draw in any competition.
• Paul Konchesky is set to make his 400th career league appearance, and Lloyd Dyer, his 300th.

Re: Blues v Leicester City - Match Thread & Early Chat -
I hope today we start well, you could tell after just 5 minutes at home v Huddersfield that we were were going to struggle, right from the off we were second best. The main problem is our midfield who know matter who we play dont seem to offer any protection to our defence and provide little or no service to our forwards.
I would like to see us comptete from the very first whistle, something we have not done in our last two home games and who knows we may just get something from the game today.

Hopefully a 2-0 win probably a 1-1 draw for me.
I´m away to see my swedish team getting promoted to 2nd tier today (hopefully)
But gonna have a look on my phone from time to time.

Agree mate
This has been a theme for a couple of years for me. Last year it was the same for periods, so many players backing out of tackles, winds me up

Poor start by Blues not a lot going forward only saving grace still 0-0 need to step up
Re: Blues v Leicester City - Match Thread & Early Chat -
HT 1.0.
We are lucky we are not 1.10. down. Leicester have carved us open time and time again.
Butland inspired first half performance from him.
Peter Lovenkrands scored at the end of the first half against the run of play for us.

WOW is the only thing to say how we got away with 1-0 lead is just unbelievable, was all Leicester with the odds bits and pieces from Blues but clear chances squandered by Leicester surely we can hold on to this as we cant play that bad for another 45mins

FT 1.1.
Butland Man Of The Match.
Three home games on the bounce without a win.

Would of taken that result before the game so got to be happy with result if not the performance but it sounded like they battled for the full 90mins . but starting to get worried about the suspensions and injuries
Re: Blues v Leicester City - Match Thread & Early Chat -
Much better performance than last few home games. Leicester showed they are a good side, but we DID manage to keep them quite-ish.
the trouble , and which lead to their goal, is the same we've had for some time. In fact it was like it last season, players waiting for the ball to drop and not attacking the ball, in this case elliot.
Sick to death watching them standing waiting for the ball and the other team jumping in and taking it. Also, put your fuckin foot in!
Hurst had a good game along with Morrison and Davis. Burke was poor along with Redmond, i don't know how many times redmond fluffed his lines!
King was terrible! For me close to the worse I've seen him play.
Lovenkrands ran his socks off, did pretty good.
Spector was poor-ish
Caldwell was average.
Butland was good apart from wayward kicks
However, on a positive note you could see there was a plan and they did manage to put a number of passes together. Leicester were the better side yet I'm not sure they were good enough to take all 3 points, debatable though.

Kevan Broadhurst on the radio kept moaning about Burke and Redmond saying both were not helping out defensively and when they had the ball gave it away cheaply. Strange really as both players were excellent for us last season.

Re: Blues v Leicester City - Match Thread & Early Chat -
Finally a free flowing game of football even though neither team managed to get into danger areas very often.
It was refreshing to see Lee Clark put out an attacking line up, and it almost got us a win. However, a draw was the fairst result because Leicester were the dominant team in the first half. I came away from this match more hopeful than I had for some weeks and felt that with even just a bit of investment we could have a decent season.
Butland 9 - very commanding in his area and much better coming for crosses than he has sometimes been. One save he made from a free kick was world class.
Hurst 7 - a decent game, although still very raw. Started the move off that led to our goal.
Davies 7 - solid, with one brilliant tackle to prevent a dangerous surge into the penalty area.
Caldwell 6 - fairly solid but gettin beaten for pace nowadays
Murphy 7 - good to have him back. You could see his fitness was not quite there but he still strengthened the team.
Burke 6 - fairly anonymous
Spector 6 - fair, but not the answer in midfield. Sent off for two bookable fouls.
Morrison 8 - a touch of class in midfield - if only he can get his head right
Redmond 7 - occasional flashes but can disappear for periods
King 6 - very good pass that led to the goal but looked ponderous too often
Lovenkrands 6 - took his goal well but fairly anonymous and eventually went off injured
Lita 6 - did not do much when he came on
Fahey 6 - same as Lita
Elliott 7 - did well when he came on and almost got the winner with a great twist and shot in the area that the keeper saved well.

Funny how different a game sounds on the Radio like most i listened to the commentary and the first half sounded more like the Alamo. Yet reading peoples reports who actually went to the game its seems like it was a pretty even game and could of gone either way. Hopefully sign's of us turning the corner and getting our season back on track

Because its about possession. Leicester had way more of it, particularly in the first half. But it was mostly around the half way line, which is pointless. No good having the ball passing between each other, unless it has an end result.

Yup, it was embarrassing! They were singing your support is feckin shit, and they're right! However, they were silent for most of the game until they scored.
TBF though, those blues supporters that could make the effort were pretty vocal, not great but we did have a sing song. The slow KRO was superb!

On the radio it sounded like Leicester had shot after shot and we had very little in response, that's why i posted at half time Wow Wow Wow how have we gone in 1-0 sounds like should be at least 4 down

They certainly had chances, shot after shot is a bit of an aggregation tbh. Can't take away from them tho, they were the better side
