Peter Loverkrands
Blues are set to complete a move for Danish forward Peter Lovenkrands, subject to a medical.
Personal terms have been agreed with the former Newcastle United man and the 32-year-old is set to report to Wast Hills this morning ahead of the Blues squad returning for 2012/13 pre-season training.
Lovenkrands will undergo a medical today and Lee Clark hopes to confirm the great Dane as his first signing as Blues boss.
The Denmark international, who has represented his country 22 times including appearances at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2004, began his senior playing career in his homeland with Akademisk Boldklub before going on to enjoy six hugely-successful years with Glasgow Rangers.
The lively forward went on to spend three years in Germany with Schalke 04 and then linked up with Newcastle in January 2009.
We hope to bring you confirmation of this deal via bcfc.com in due course. BCFC OFFICIAL

needs to be a blend imo. Experience and youth. But we defo need some numbers adding to the squad. There's no saying he's just there to do that, add numbers and back up.

To be honest age isnt a factor any more with footballers its all down to how fit they are and keep themselves most Bluenoses wouldn't say no to KP at 36 so why snub PL at 32 give him a chance that's what i say
Re: Lovenkrands signs 2 year deal
Confirmed on Lunchtime news. Interview by Lee Clark on 6 pm BBc news Midlands.
I think he's a little old, but being realistic Beggars and Choosers, are we not?

Ageing defenders get better with experience.
Strikers/Midfields get slow and Injury prone.

Lovenkrands signs 2 year deal
Peter Lovenkrands has put pen to paper on a 2 year deal with a future year option and for me a good signing even if it is a few years late .
Anyway Welcome Peter Lovenkrands to the Birmingham City roller coaster ride
Peter Lovenkrands @lovenkrands11
That's it I am now the new Birmingham city Number 11! Really looking forward to get started!

Good signing. Maybe past his peak, but a good player, versatile and one of newcastle best players when they played up off the pitch at St Andys 2 years ago.
With him, Marlon, Zig and Rooney got a lot of variety up front now

I have to bow down to others greater knowledge of players than me. And the general consensus is this is a good signing.
So with that in mind, welcome young, sorry meant old, Peter

Lee Clark made the mistake of buying to many Oldies at Huddersfield.
And look where that got him.

Re: Lovenkrands signs 2 year deal
Waste of time IMO.
We got enough experienced strikers in Zig, King, and Elliott.
We got some good striker prospects in Asante, Jervis and Redmond.
Then we got Rooney.
A good mix of experience and youth.
So what the fekk we doing buying a 32 year old? All LoverKrands is going to do is hold back the likes of Jervis,Asante and Redmond.
Waste of money ? No cos he cost fekk all.
Waste of wages ? Yes.
Waste of time ? Deffinitely Yes.
