Re: BIRMINGHAM CITY SUPPORTERS TRUST BY HOOTIE63
A message from Blues Trust
Dear Trust Member,
First of all we would like to thank you all for your participation in the Trust’s Week of Action. Over the course of last week, we received numerous email updates and over 300 letter template downloads, reflecting the depth of concern currently surrounding a number of club related issues.
Our efforts have also been reflected in the local media, with the Birmingham Mail now putting similar questions to the BCFC Board. However the Trust’s efforts have primarily focussed on members of the BIHL Board in Hong Kong, and we recognise the fantastic job St. Andrews based staff have been doing in spite of extremely difficult circumstances.
Many of you will have seen Peter Pannu’s statement posted on the official club website last week. In his statement, Mr Pannu responded to direct supporter feedback addressing a number of serious concerns raised by Birmingham City fans.
In particular, the Trust welcomes the efforts being made to source potential new owners and fully supports Mr. Pannu’s views that media scaremongering could potentially damage any future sale of the club. The Trust will continue to seek clarity on a number of concerns, in particular surrounding the club’s financial situation, on behalf of its members.
The Trust also welcomes the appointment of Lee Clark as manager and hopes that the club will honour their intention to retain its most prized assets.
Our new manager and players will again need our magnificent support as we approach the start of the 2012/13 season. Despite deep economic hardship, the Trust encourages all fans to renew season tickets where possible – our club needs us, so let’s show how passionate Birmingham City fans really are.
Our newly established Trust has come a long way in the space of just 10 months, and our achievements to date would not have been possible without your support. Working with our club in a spirit of openness and transparency remains the Trust’s primary objective, therefore we look forward to future dialogue between BCFC and its fans.
The Trust is keen to hear your views as members to ensure we work on the areas of most importance to you. We will be holding a ‘Meet the Blues Trust’ social night at the Royal George Bar & Hotel (corner of the Tilton Road and Garrison Lane) on Tuesday 10th July, commencing at 7:45pm. You are warmly invited to attend, meet members of the Trust’s Interim Board and let us know your views on how you’d like to see the Trust develop. If you are a Facebook user, we have an official event page which can be found here.
We hope to see you there and once again thank you for your continued support.
