Fabrice Muamba to be guest of honour v Bolton
Birmingham City are happy to announce that Fabrice Muamba has accepted their invitation to be Guest of Honour V Bolton.
Blues are delighted to confirm that Fabrice Muamba has accepted an invitation to be our guest of honour at Tuesday's npower Championship fixture against Bolton Wanderers (7.45pm kick-off).
The former Blues favourite will return to St. Andrew's for the first time since he was forced to announce his retirement from the game last month as a result of the cardiac arrest he suffered on the pitch whilst playing for Bolton in an FA Cup with Budweiser tie at Tottenham Hotspur back in March.
The 24-year-old spent a month in hospital but stunned doctors with his amazing recovery. Despite the midfielder’s initial wish to resume his career, experts warned him that returning to action could put too much strain on his heart and it was not worth the risk.
Fab will be welcomed on to the St. Andrew's pitch at half-time to allow both set of fans to show their support to the former England Under-21 international following his premature retirement.
The ex-Arsenal man was a highly popular member of the Blues squad for two seasons, clocking up 79 appearances and scoring two goals, and was part of the side that won promotion to the top flight in 2007.
Everybody associated with the club now looks forward to welcoming Fab back to St. Andrew's.

Yes, I'll give him a very welcome back. I'm very glad to see the young lad is recovering well.

That depends if they bring him on at Half Time if it's before kick off he's got no chance of getting that applause

I just hope everybody going from this forum gives Fabrice an extra bit of applause from me.
I rated this bloke as both a player and a bloke.
Fabrice Muamba, all-round top bloke.

nice touch, liked him as a person even if i didn't rate him as a player. Just hope he doesn't inspire the Bolton players to victory!

When did he come on the pitch?
I hope an extra applause was given on my behalf.
(I dare say Kev et al would have been in the pub/bar and missed it )

I didn't miss it. He came on at half time and I stood and clapped hands for the lad. It's good to see him looking well and happy, with his family.

Actually Kev was doing his untied nations duty and trying to communicate with LINDIS whilst Fabrice was being introduced to the crowd

Couldn't understand a word he was saying tbh, he seemed to understand English better than what we could understand Swedish and came across as a nice guy tho who likes his beer. Honest the extremes I go to when it comes to poaching other forums members never seem to amaze me
Anyhow Lindis will be at the Barnsley game on Saturday but fingers crossed he will be on here next week when he is back home.
