Re: Briattori to buy Blues ?
Gianni Paladini today insisted that his bid to buy Birmingham City was deadly serious.
And the former QPR chairman has urged Carson Yeung and Peter Pannu to agree a quick sale.
Former football agent Paladini claimed that an offer had been made to Blues Hong Kong chiefs - and the total ‘package’ was worth around £25 million.
Paladini, who moved from Italy to live in Solihull when he was 22, said Flavio Briatore was not part of the consortium.
But friends of the former Formula One chief and part-owner of QPR were involved in the attempt to takeover at St Andrew’s.
“We have put the bid in, we have done everything we need to do,” said Paladini.
“We have gone through all the books and done due diligence, and the money is there.
“Now it is up to Birmingham and Mr Pannu, who has been speaking to our lawyer.
“It is in their interests to sell.
“And the club is up for sale - they have been trying to sell it for 12 months.
“We believe our offer is very fair and realistic but we can’t keep waiting and waiting and waiting.”
Paladini, was was at QPR for eight years until leaving in 2011 and was chairman at Loftus Road, continued: “The bid is not £12 million, it’s about double that when you add on everything else we have proposed in the whole package.
“I have seen it said that Fabio Briatore is involved. No, this is all my responsibility.
“Fabio is my friend, we talk all the time. He is getting old, you know, and doesn’t want to be involved like he has been before.
“Our consortium has a lot of money. I cannot go into more detail and say who the people are.
“But it is a group of Italian entrepreneurs, they are wealthy and very keen to do well for Birmingham and help the club back into the Premier League.
“They are friends of Fabio, too. But he’s not interested in the way he was previously at QPR.”
Paladini said he was unsure of what the next step was.
“Hopefully Birmingham want to do the deal, we are not messing about, we are very serious."

Re: Briattori to buy Blues ?
this is starting to bubble a bit now
Lets just hope there's no smoke without fire
it seems as though Briatore is not involved but you can also see how fans may jump to the conclusion with Italy/QPR being associated with the bid
Lets just hope for more smoke followed by an inferno

GIANNI Paladini has revealed that there would be no four-year plans if he was successful in taking control of Birmingham City.
Rather, it would be a one-year plan to get Blues back into the big time.
Paladini made a wry reference to the eye-opening documentary about QPR, The Four Year Plan, which showed fly-on-the-wall footage of him and Flavio Briatore at Loftus Road as the club strived to reach the Premier League.
“If our consortium gets the club, we need promotion this season or the next season,” stated Paladini.
“Not in four years’ time – it’s a one-year plan.
“Birmingham’s squad is not bad. It maybe needs another four players, maybe another striker.
“We believe that we can help bring success; with the right people we can take Birmingham up.”
Paladini and Co – more so Briatore – came in for huge criticism for the forthright and dismissive manner in which they dealt with managers and various situations – even picking the team – at Loftus Road.
Paladini said: “Listen, I took QPR out of the ****, when they were in administration, from League One to where they are now.
“What was done was done for the love of QPR.
“I was one of the longest serving chairmen there. I have been in football for years and years.
“I tried to stop Flavio from interfering but not everything was shown in the programme.
“We brought success to the club and anyone who says they didn’t want success is a hypocrite.”
Paladini’s group of Italian businessmen want to take Blues on from Carson Yeung in a £25 million deal.
“Birmingham is a big club, a good club,” he said.
“It should be in the Premier League.
“I know the club very well, I have done work with them in the past and I am friendly with a lot of people connected with the Birmingham.
“But if they won’t sell it to us there is nothing we can do.”
Paladini revealed that his group’s bid had been lodged last week.
“To be honest, I was hoping that we would have been in the process of taking over by now,’’ he added.
“Our representatives, our lawyer, has been taking with them and Mr Pannu for two months.”

Noubt to cheer about there. I would rather have a trusting and mature wealthy businessman.
As I said before it could be out of the frying pan and into the fire with this sleazeball. Here's something I have copied and pasted :-
"It was then alleged in the press that Paladini was using QPR to line the pockets of various agent friends with deals that the club could not afford. Typical is the suggestion that the acquisition of Marc Nygaard, on a free transfer from Brescia Calcio, resulted in a £60,000 payment to agent Brian Hassell. It is also claimed that £10,000 was paid to Mel Eves, a Midlands-based agent, for the transfer of Ian Evatt."
Sounds like another untrusting slimy sleazeball to me.

Re: Briattori to buy Blues ?
Lowdham. As I said on my post on page one in response to your post. We've had our share of seedy men at this club.
We haven't had a good consortium here since the 1940s/1950s, when the consortium of the building industry men. ie. Wisemans, Dares, Morris & Jacombs etc.
Crowds of 50,000 plus most games. Happy days. Will we ever get them back? Happy Days, I mean. Not the gates obviously.

Agree, but this club NEEDS something to happen. As it stands, this take over looks the best option. Limbo can not be in the best interest of the club in this case until he goes down.

Re: Briattori to buy Blues ?
The more Info that I read re the potential takeover the more I am for it.
CY & PP will only end up taking us into League 1 while stripping us of any remaining assets we have along the way.
Paladini will know that BCFC is a massive club compared to QPR, If he gets in the sky really can be the limit for him. Whatever happens we need the Chinese out ASAP.

Seriously, its a no brainer for me. If Carsen goes down the shit will hit the fan along with the majority owners trying to get their money back, which WILL NOT be good news for us.
This, or another, take over has to happen for the sack of the club and its fans. Without a shadow of a doubt.

The Board of Birmingham City FC can clarify its position following recent media speculation regarding the ownership of the club.
After comments made to the media, the club would like to place on record that there are no discussions taking place with any group associated with Gianni Paladini.
A takeover bid was made to the Board’s lawyers by representatives of an undisclosed party but this was summarily rejected.
No further comment will be made at this stage and any confirmed developments relating to the football club will be communicated via [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] first and foremost.
