Blues set to release players
It was said on Twitter that on Thursday that Lee Clark had to call the players in and tell them some might have to go IE: King and Davies all because we had not had any firm bids or interest in Jack Butland or Zigic so needed to raise money by getting rid of next best.
Now the story as been picked up on by Sky Sport and more or less confirmed the story that broke last week from James Nursey who is normally not far off the mark.
While i like the idea of Butland and Zigic staying, if the club are so desperate for money why couldn't they agree to pay half of Zigic's wages and the loan club pays the rest surely that would help us keep hold of others who are on high wages.

Sky Sports understands that Marlon King is one of a host of Birmingham's players told they can find new clubs, due to Blues' financial situation.
The 32-year-old, who has scored over 30 goals since he joined Birmingham in 2011 from Midlands rivals Coventry City, is currently top-scorer for the club.
But Birmingham are struggling hugely financially and are understood to have told a number of players that if they find a new club they would be able to leave.
And Sky Sports understands that King could leave on a free transfer, despite having 18 months left on his current deal.
While King is settled at St Andrew's and is happy, a host of clubs have been alerted to the fact he could be available.
Former club Wigan, Norwich, Cardiff, Blackburn, Bolton and Nottingham Forest are thought to be monitoring his situation.
Along with King is it thought that the futures of big names such as Jack Butland, Nathan Redmond, Chris Burke and Nikola Zigic are very much up in the air.

Re: Blues set to release players
I'd like to say I am surprised but I am not.
NOTHING surprises me while Peter Pannu is here.
BCFC just one big fekk up whilst the Chinese are here.
Just when you thought it couldnt get any worse we will be in League 1.

Curtis Davies to Reading ?
Reading are considering a bargain £1.5million swoop for Birmingham stopper Curtis Davies.
The Premier League Royals have been notified cash-strapped Championship City have to sell this month.
Brum want Davies' £27,000-a-week salary off their wage bill to cut costs.
And Reading are mulling over a bargain bid to boost their survival prospects.
The St Andrews club, who fear being stuck with Nikola Zigic's £55,000-a-week wages, are also set to give Marlon King a FREE transfer.
Striker King, 32, is Blues top scorer with 13 goals but only has six months left on his £18,000-a-week deal.
Brum are willing to give him a free just to move him on and Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday are interested.
While Nottingham Forest, bossed by Alex McLeish, want winger Chris Burke.
MirrorSport revealed on Saturday that City boss Lee Clark has told players they must go to avoid staff redundancies at the club.

It's a sad situation to be in with our Parachute payment of 6mill just being received surely the need to sell is not that bad or is it just a case of "Chinese takeaway" before the club is sold sooner they go the better.

Trouble is, the club owes £16+ mill to Carsen. Until that is paid he's going nowhere

Re: Blues set to release players
its a bit like watching the titanic sink , you feel so hopeless and unable todo anything and you have many questions you want answering at the same time , why did they pay was it 78m for something worth half that , why did they sell players well below market value which is really burning me up inside, why did they stay stum for so long when all the fans should have known the state of play, and the time it took to do the accounts , why?
