Fekk knows how they came up with that figure looked more like 9000 !

Kev, I'm with you on this one. The gate figures for last night (Middlesbrough) couldn't possibly be genuine, through the turnstiles figures.

I believe they are fiddled figures coming from the 14000ish season tickets, already sold, so they count them in. However this is NOT the GENUINE through the gate figures.

I've been diddled, and so has anyone else not counting in 14000 first. Shame.

You're right Trev, Blues count all season tickets as being in the ground.
You note that Hoots intentionally calls it "Guess the Gate" and not "Guess the attendance".

They can get away with it when they're not on live tv, but it kinda makes them (and us) look a bit daft when they say there were 15k+ at a game when there are obviously closer to half that amount.

It must be something to do with trying to con potential buyers into thinking that we're more popular than we really are at the moment.

Nope, its common practice throughout the leagues and is nothing new at St Andrews, we've been doing for years and years.

Somethings just accord to me. If we had 15k with so many empty seats it must be ST holders staying away.
Now that's a real worry.

Raters, that's why it's almost impossible to work out before hand how many will be in the ground, during a match as the gate figures shown are NOT the TRUE gate figures.

This game should be called, "Guess how many have paid" Not guess the gate, because those who have paid, don't always turn up. The word guess is correct of course.

We have approx 12,000 season ticket holders, therefore that figure should be used as a benchmark, the gate will always start at that figure.

Good point Raters re how many actual season ticket holders are bothering to turn up. Must have been a few thousand who couldnt be arsed for one reason or another on Friday night.

Bluenosebryan & bluenosemichelle & their nipper never went but all three would have had their seats counted in the Gate despite not being there !

Last time I saw it officially (just before the season start) it was about 12,500

Against Barnsley at home the crowd was Att 13,893.

Bearing in mind Barnsley bought a few and some noses must have paid on the day then we cant have 14,000 season ticket holders !
