Romeo Castelen on Trial

Blues have taken the ex Dutch international on trial with view to a permanent deal.

Castelen has spent the last 5 years at Hamburg SV but his time with them was not very successful because of injuries making only 22 appearances for 1st and 2nd teams combined. He was released at the end of his contract in June and has been a free agent since, having trials at a few Clubs one being Middlesbrough but they did not take the player on. Lee Clark is keen to boost his squad after seeing Leroy Lita return to Swansea and might be prepared to risk the player if a deal can be done.

Castelen played for the Development squad today away at Coventry who went Down 2-1 but he did score after 5 mins giving Blues the lead after a smart finish from inside the box.

Don't know much about this fellow, so here's hoping.
