Just read that when they announce our attendances they include all ST holders that don't actually turn up. Thus our attendance on Tues night was less than they announced.

Seems most clubs do the same.

So, our support is even shitter than we think

Pretty sure they are not Claiming it's a regular thing but just happened on Tuesday night, If so then it's a case of making the club look better than it actually is in the eyes of any potential buyers who could be put off if they knew fans were not attending.

It's been the norm for some time.

I remembere the practice being highlighted a few seasons back after Arsenal fans had questioned the 60,000 gates with so many empty seats. They counrt STs as they have already been sold for the game. The attendance is the number of seats sold.

But i've always thought they underannounce, since that way they pay less tax? I remember hearing 24,000 announced for a packed out European game, and they announce 27,000 for the Villa Carling Cup game which was beyond full?

Nah mate, nowt to do with tax as the money is paid over the counter before the game. The announcement would have nothing to do with tax returns.
