1956. YUK. Every damn game away from home. I managed to get tickets and leave (time off) for every game. Even got tickets for the Final, and couldn't get leave, so had to work, and gave ticket away.

I spent the afternoon directing traffic on Hockley Brook, (before flyover) The traffic took a belting that day, especially that heading for Aston. I didn't even hear it on radio, being stuck out there in the middle. I heard the result after I came off duty, and felt sick.
