Team Gb started the tournament with our very Jack Butland in goal with a credible Draw against Senegal. After taking the lead midway through the first half with a Bellamy Goal GB had to settle for a point against a Spirited Senegal side Coached by former Blues midfielder Aliou Cisse who pegged GB back in the closing stages with the game ending 1-1

Team GB football watch Empty Team GB v Uae

Post  hootie63 Mon Jul 30, 2012 9:31 am

GB faced what on paper looked a pretty simple task against the Uae in their second game of the tournament .
Again Jack Butland took the goalkeeping honours and in the first half had very little to do apart from pick a few bits and pieces of lose balls. GB pressed and created a few chances and reaped the benefit on 16mins when the old man of the team showed how it was done with Giggs scoring GB's 2nd goal of the tournament.
The 2nd half was a different story with Uae creating and coming back into the game more and Butland came to GB's rescue before finally conceding on 60mins with a goal from Eisa.
Again GB looked shaky and should of took the lead on 69mins but for a good save By Butland came out to smother a shot on goal. Ryan Giggs was replaced on 71 by Sinclair and within 2 minutes he had extended GB's lead with Uae tiring half time sub Sturridge also waded in with a goal to help GB run out 3-1 winners and so guarantee a place in the next round
