Terries snatch a point from former boss Lee Clark

Adam Hammill recues a late equaliser for Huddersfield to deny Lee Clark a victory on his return to the John Smith’s Stadium for the first time since his departure.

The Blues’ started slowly in the first 15 minutes as Simon Grayson’s side had the majority of possession and applied pressure on the Birmingham defence who held strong. The Terriers only real chance during their period of dominance was a superb acrobatic volley by Sean Scannell from a Neil Danns’ cross that forced Jack Butland into an even better save that gave him very little time to react.

Following the Huddersfield pressure, Birmingham were very much on top for the rest of the first half as Paul Caddis and Chris Burke looked a threat down the right hand side with great link up play and some dangerous crosses. With the Ireland U21 scout watching him, Callum Reilly didn’t disappoint as Burke's deep cross was not defend well by the Huddersfield defence and fell kindly for Reilly who slotted home his first career goal for his boyhood club.

After the break Blues continued to control the game thanks to great performances by Gomis who closed down and won every 50/50 and Davies who made crucial tackles and headers throughout the game. Lee Clark’s men couldn’t take advantage though as Redmond failed to double their lead with his left foot effort.

In the dying embers of the game Hammill scored after an unchallenged run from the right side of the box ended with a shot that nestled in the top left corner to secure a point in his final game for the club.

Man of the match: Curtis Davies (followed very closely by Morgaro Gomis)

Well done. Your usual well written report. From the commentary I was listening to, your man of the match sounds right. And i'm glad that Gomis is getting the attention and games he needs. thumb up

i could only get match updates for the game and i did expect them to lose so a points ok for me, i was wondering if clark made changes late on which cost us the game but it does sound more like the terriers went on the offensive to claim the point
im still a bit disillusioned as to how were gonna fair this season i look to the next game and its brighton at home and im already thinking were gonna lose, roll on new owners and a fresh start , lee clark out
